Migratory Swans in Caithness near Loch Watten
Over the winter months it is fairly usual to see groups of migratory swans and geese in Caithness and while they are not loved by farmers I for one love seeing them. This winter (2017/18) I have not had the opportunity to photograph many of these beautiful creatures as either I have not got my camera with me or the weather has been too harsh for me to venture out to take pictures of these migratory birds. On this occasion they were only a mile away from our small croft and they did not fly off when I parked the car. I believe these migratory swans are Whooper Swans, more due to the geographic location of them than any distinguishing marks or size.
